Barcelona striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has insisted that he will not consider a switch to the English Premier League in the summer.

The Swedish frontman could be sold by the Blaugrana following the arrival of Spanish international striker David Villa, with both Manchester City and Chelsea linked with a move for the 27-year old.

However, the player himself insists that he has no intention of making a move to England.

In an interview with Swedish magazine Café, Ibrahimovic stated, “England does not feel close to me. I do not like rain.”

The former Inter striker also said that he is considering a coaching role to remain in football after his career is over.

He said, “Football will always be in my heart, it is a part of me. I am hoping to contribute my knowledge to Swedish football in some other way.”

‘Ibracadabra’ moved to the Camp Nou from Inter last summer as part of a swap deal involving Samuel Eto’o, and scored 16 goals as the Blaugrana retained their Primera Division title.

Manchester United’s Patrice Evra has revealed his disappointment at losing the Premier League title to Chelsea, whilst noting that the prospect of the forthcoming World Cup is keeping him in an upbeat state of mind

“The World Cup is the only thing that makes me keep smiling,” Evra told L’Equipe, considering the last day title disappointment the Red Devils suffered. “I will be with the team of France on May 15 and I will have had six days off. But I will give the best of myself, as I have done for Manchester United. I hope to win the World Cup. I hope we play England in the final and beat them, certainly!”

Evra has been named in a panel of 30 players who Raymond Domenech will run the rule over in the forthcoming days, yet it would take a massive surprise for the former Monaco player, who is currently France’s first choice left-back, to be omitted from the final squad of 23.

Meanwhile, Eric Abidal has told radio station RMC that there have been no dressing room fall-outs in the France squad, as rumours have previously suggested.

Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster is "close" to agreeing personal terms with Birmingham City after the two clubs agreed a transfer deal worth around £5 million, revealed his agent.

Foster has struggled to force his way past Edwin van der Sar in the United pecking order, and Birmingham manager Alex McLeish sees him as a perfect replacement for Joe Hart, whose season-long loan stay at the club from Manchester City ended last week.

City informed Birmingham they would not allow Hart to go out on loan for another campaign, leading McLeish's attention to turn to Foster. With the 27-year-old looking to kick-start his career, his agent Lee Payne confirmed that he expected his client to agree a contract with the St Andrews club early next week.

"We are close to agreeing a deal," Payne told Sky Sports. "The two clubs have agreed a fee and given us permission to talk to Birmingham.

"We fully expect the deal to be completed either this weekend or the start of next week."

Foster has been capped four times for England, but his lack of recent first-team football has ended his hopes of attending this summer's World Cup. In his place, Hart's stellar form has booked his place in Capello's squad.

Slavia Sofia goalkeeper Rais Mbolhi is set to have a trial with Manchester United, the Bulgarian club confirmed on Wednesday.

24-year-old Mbolhi is in Algeria's provisional squad for this summer's World Cup, but Sofia confirmed he will miss the final two games of the club's domestic season as he flys to Old Trafford to be assessed by the manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

"I've talked to Alex Ferguson and he's going on trial," club president Ventsislav Stefanov told the Bulgarian agency BTA.

Mbolhi, who has represented France at youth level but is yet to be capped for either country at senior level, only joined Slavia in June — but was recently voted the Bulgarian league's best goalkeeper.

He began his career at Olympique Marseille, and previously had a short spell at Scottish club Hearts.
